Travelling

Our flight left at about 0620 in the evening, and it was quite difficult saying goodbye to my husband who could not join us on this trip.

We spent the next half an hour settling in with the onboard entertainment system and I tried to explain to Braedon how to use the controls.....

It did look like we would have the three seats to ourselves, however, no we were not to be so lucky - I ended up with someone next to us - so we lost all our spare room.

Our first meal was not all that appetizing and Braedon just ate the bread roll and cheese and biscuits. He told me Tabitha should be here so she could finish it all off (Tabitha is our 15-year-old King Charles Spaniel).

I started watching a couple of movies and by the time we arrived in Bangkok, I had watched quite a number of new releases plus some oldies...

Witness
Fugitive

Children of the Silk Road
Sex in the city

Braedon is always fascinated with documentaries and watched quite a few - only ones relating to animals and of course the Disney kids channel. We also try and get some sleep, Braedon slept about 3 hours and I slept about one and a half.

We arrived in Bangkok and had about 50 minutes to check out the Duty-free, Landing at terminal E10 meant quite a walk to the shops at the other end. The airport which is known is unusual in its design as arrivals E10 is downstairs and departures are in the same place but up one level E10 departures. It took us a while to figure this out - however, at least there were no final calls for us....

The next part of the journey would be even longer. We were already tired as neither of us had gotten much sleep on the first leg. So as soon as we settled we both crashed and slept for about two hours. However, it wasn't long until we woke up so I started watching more movies...

Baby Mama
Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull
Nim .. something...

After the third movie I encouraged Braedon to have another sleep and turned off the movies. We both slept about another hour or so before we were woken up by the clatter of the breakfast trolley - yep time for breakfast at about 4.00 am UK time. We still had about two and a half hours to go...

Arrivals..... well not the smoothest to say the least. There was a query with my British passport as the last time we were in the UK we lost all our passports, reported them missing, and then found them again. We did advise the embassies that we had located them, however, if your passport is lost it is automatically canceled. Whoops! Didn't know this and we were not told that this would happen. So the UK authorities impounded both passports. So now minus two passports which will need to get replaced when I return to Aussie.....

Well, we ended up making it through so that was the main thing, however was pretty worried for a while. I half expected to be taken to a little room and questioned, luckily this didn't happen. Braedon couldn't figure out what was going on. Why are we waiting? He would ask. The people are going through.... It's our turn! Hurry up, mum! What are you waiting for! I kept telling him to shush and eventually, he started playing gymnastics on the railings.....

We were met by my mum and Aunt Linda ( my mum has been over here for the last 7 months, helping her sister so she can have a break from looking after their Nan and also to spend time with her.

Anyway, a cab ride back to Northolt - I felt exhausted and so was Braedon, however, we hung in there and stayed awake for at least 3 hours and then had a nap.

We decided to take Braedon for a little walk and get some fresh air....
